Maari is a 2015 Tamil gangster comedy film written and directed by Balaji Mohan starring Dhanush and Kajal Aggarwal. The film was jointly produced by Listin Stephen and Raadhika Sarathkumar's Magic Frames and Dhanush's Wunderbar Films. Anirudh Ravichander composed the film's soundtrack and score while Om Prakash undertook the film's cinematography. After being in pre-production phase since March 2014, principal photography began on 4 November 2014 and lasted till 15 March 2015. The film was shot in and around Chennai and Tuticorin. Maari was released on 17 July 2015. The Telugu dubbed version titledMass was released on 29 April 2016.

The film is based on the philosophy that dreams will be fulfilled, presenting Jai as having a fetish for writing a diary, while changing things that go wrong in his life to have a happy ending. He comes across a pretty girl, played by Shazahn Padamsee, who he is intimidated by and cannot build up the courage to tell her his true feelings. Meanwhile, Vijay Vasanth also takes a liking to her and uses a different method to convey his feelings. Whom the girl falls for forms the crux of the story.

Billa, a ruthless international crime lord wanted in at least eleven countries, operates from Kuala Lumpur. The only person he answers to is his unseen boss: "Devil." ACP Krishna Murthy is one of several officers working with Interpol to catch Billa. But when one of his informants is killed, Murthy begins to suspect a mole within the police. Eventually, Billa is killed, and Murthy is the only witness. When he learns of Ranga, a pickpocket and Billa-lookalike; Murthy sets up a secret operation. Ranga takes Billa's place to learn the gang's secrets. Chased by the law, suspected by the gang, and hunted by a vengeful femme-fatale; Ranga finds himself in extreme danger from all sides.

In an operation to save to girl from a bunch of masked kidnappers, Karthik loses his colleague and gets hit in the leg by the gangsters. The leader escapes while one is captured and one is dead. Having been affected both physically & mentally, he is stuck at home when a military-trained dog comically named Subramani comes into his custody & brings color to his life. Karthik's wife is now kidnapped by the same gang again however this time it is not business, but personal.

The backdrop of the story begins in Goa where six dead bodies are washed up on the shore of the beach, which is the doing of the Goa Drug Lord, Jothi who is invisible to the real world due to his constant movement.
The police are unable to track him since he doesn't leave any traces of his whereabouts and are only known between his generals.
Chitti is in charge for the drug operation under J Company received a call from Jothi regarding of several missing drugs in where the person in charge for transporting the item shot himself due to the fear of Jothi.
The screen shift to Siva, who has been shown as the master culprit for the stolen drugs. He hides the drugs in an attic in his safe-house.

A period drama told in flashback, the semi-fictional plot centres around India’s Partition and the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi by the Hindu extremist Nathuram Godse. The film is about a protagonist’s journey from religious hatred to love with the theme of the partition of Bengal in the background. Its relevance in the present Indian environment clouded by religious extremism was widely unrecognized. This is the story of Saket Ram, as narrated by his grandson. The film takes place as Ram, a retired archeologist, lies on the deathbed, on 6 December 1999, the 7th anniversary of the destruction of Babri Mosque in Ayodhya. The film was a treat to eyes through it’s visual effects and amazing acting by Kamal Hassan & Sharukh Khan. The film won many national & international awards and was chosen as India’s official entry to the Oscars to be considered for nomination in the Best Foreign Film category for the year 2000.
